Vertical Autoclave Principle

The principle of a vertical autoclave is based on the use of high-pressure saturated steam to sterilize instruments, materials, and other items. Once the chamber is sealed, steam is introduced and heated to temperatures ranging from 121°C to 134°C. This heat, combined with pressure typically between 15 to 17 psi (upgradable to 30 psi), penetrates every surface of the load, killing bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores within 15 to 20 minutes.

Vertical autoclaves utilize a digital timer and microprocessor-based temperature control to maintain consistent sterilization cycles. Safety is enhanced through radial door locking mechanisms, low water level detectors, and pressure interlock systems, ensuring both operator safety and sterilization efficacy.
